Into the Wind was not even remotely on my radar until now, but after seeing it during the Future Games Show I am convinced it’s going to be great.

With a mixture of wonderful visuals, and a really fun idea for an action-adventure delivery sim, this is one to put right into that wishlist.

The latest video (below), narrated by Bloom & Gloom Co-Founder and Game Director Robin Hjelte, follows a complete delivery from start to finish, showcasing the satisfying gameplay loop at the heart of Into the Wind.

You must carefully choose contracts and plan routes around changing weather, wayward air pirates, and challenging terrain before upgrading your sentient motorcycle-plane companion, Ermes, to unlock new opportunities and adventures.

From the press release sent to GamingOnLinux:

“We’re incredibly excited to finally see players take to the skies of Santa Rosa for themselves,” says Robin, co-founder and game director of Bloom & Gloom.

“Our new gameplay preview gives players an in-depth look at the adventure, but now we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.

We need players’ help to make Into the Wind the best it can be, and we’re looking forward to hearing their feedback as we continue towards Early Access.”

There’s a playtest you can sign up for to try it on Steam.
