Beyond functional issues, NVIDIA display drivers present serious security vulnerabilities.
- In November 2025, multiple critical vulnerabilities were disclosed affecting Linux systems: use-after-free bugs (CVE-2025-23280), race condition vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-23282), and null pointer dereference issues (CVE-2025-23300, CVE-2025-23330, CVE-2025-23332).
- These vulnerabilities could allow privilege escalation, code execution, and denial of service attacks.
- Users had to act quickly to update their systems to patched driver versions, adding urgency to an already stressful driver management situation.
