Most creature collecting games have you simply battle to earn XP and level up, with Alchemic Beasts focusing more on companionship and relationships.

That alone might be enough to make it feel real different to all the other similar looking games.

The developers say that “Every beast has its own personality, behaviors, strengths, and relationships that directly affect combat, obedience, interactions, and evolution paths”.

They can evolve naturally into something new, or you can use alchemy to turn them into something else entirely.

Depending on your relationship with your creatures and your team synergy – you might get access to special bonuses.

Along with the typical Pokemon-like turn-based battles, the game features a building system as you’re helping to restore the world.

Overall it does seem really interesting if you’re in the mood for more different creature collecting.

There’s a demo available on Steam, and they’re seeking funding on Kickstarter where they’re hoping to get at least $24,000.

They have around 28 days to hit that target.
