The Steam Hardware & Software Survey for June 2026 is out – so here’s our usual look over the statistics provided by users who opt-in to it.
We’ve seen Linux dip for another month after the recent all-time high back in March.

Hopefully with the Steam Machine now released, we might begin to see even more people discovering how good Linux can be for gaming for the first time.
And then again when the Steam Frame releases – since they’re both powered by SteamOS Linux.
The newer higher price of the Steam Deck likely isn’t helping.
After that big spike in March – this is the numbers mostly going back to a more normal level and still trending upwards nicely overall.
