Dwarfs versus dinos? Yep, that’s now a thing.
The deep sim Dwarf Fortress has a big free update out now adding in a whole lot of extinct animals.
Bringing 100 extinct creatures into the game, with hand-made sprites and portraits along with animal people, but you need to make a new world to see it all.
Not forced though – you can keep them extinct if you find them to be a nuisance.
I find they add a nice amount of extra spicy variety to the game.
Work continues on the Magic update too – so there’s plenty more to come for the game.

Dwarf Fortress really is a game that just keeps on giving – one of those forever games that you can just keep coming back to for hours and hours.
More accessible than ever thanks to the Steam release.
